Introducing our New Partner, National Breast Cancer Foundation!

Share:

This October, a new nonprofit will join the Causely family. We are excited to honor Breast Cancer Awareness month by partnering with the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF).

NBCF was founded in 1991 by breast cancer survivor, Janelle Hail. She was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1980 at the age of 34. At the time of her diagnosis, there was little information about the disease, and she made a decision about her health with few options. After treatment, Janelle made a commitment to help women around the world by educating them about breast cancer and the importance of early detection.

NBCF’s mission is to provide help and inspire hope to those affected by breast cancer through early detection, education, and support services. One in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime. There is currently no known cure for breast cancer, and early diagnosis is critical to survival.

NBCF Highlights

  • They offer free, innovative programs that other organizations don’t provide to women facing breast cancer so no one faces it alone.
  • NBCF provides a one of a kind program called the Patient Navigation Program. This program is provided in their partnered hospitals to help guide newly diagnosed breast cancer patients through their journey.
  • NBCF is one of the most recognized and respected breast cancer charities in the world.
  • NBCF received the highest 4-star rating by Charity Navigator, America’s premier charity evaluator, for 14 years. On average, over 80% of their revenue is directed to their life-saving programs.

What kind of impact does NBCF make?

NBCF provides many different programs that span early detection and diagnosis through support during treatment and beyond. They have helped over a million women with their programs. They were founded to fill the gaps of cancer care, ensuring women have access and information they need to get through every step of their breast cancer journey. In the last decade, NBCF has provided over 192,000 mammograms, over 858,000 patient navigation services, and over 240,000 breast health education services to women.

Our partnership and how your check-ins make a difference

When we reached out to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, we knew we wanted to provide a tangible resource to help women. The breast health kits seemed like a perfect fit! As part of the Breast Health Education Program, the National Breast Cancer Foundation partners with Convoy of Hope to provide breast cancer education and early detection services to women at community outreaches across the country. Through this partnership, they set up a tent to educate women about the importance of early detection, provide an awareness of available local resources, and distribute custom Breast Health Kits filled with awareness items. Through this initiative, NBCF has trained over 4,000 volunteers and delivered life-saving services to over 74,000 women on breast self-awareness techniques. To support NBCF this month, every 20 check-ins will provide a breast health kit to women in need!
