Privacy Policy

Revised: August 22, 2011

Causely ("Causely") provides its games and related services (collectively, the "Service") subject to this Privacy Policy. Causely respects your preferences concerning the treatment of personal information that we may collect from your use of Service. This policy lets you know how we collect and use your personal information, and how you can control its use. This policy describes the broadest potential use of personal information throughout the Service that is consistent with the terms of this policy, but please note that we may make far less use of your personal information. By submitting personal information through our site or Service, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy and you expressly consent to the collection, use and disclosure of your personal information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

This Privacy Policy is subject to occasional revision, and if we make any material changes in the way we use your personal information, we will notify you by sending you an e-mail to the last e-mail address you provided to us and/or by prominently posting notice of the changes on our site. Any changes to this Privacy Policy will be effective upon the earlier of thirty (30) calendar days following our dispatch of an e-mail notice to you or thirty (30) calendar days following our posting of notice of the changes on our site. These changes will be effective immediately for new users of our Service. Please note that at all times you are responsible for updating your personal information to provide us with your most current e-mail address. In the event that the last e-mail address that you have provided us is not valid, or for any reason is not capable of delivering to you the notice described above, our dispatch of the e-mail containing such notice will nonetheless constitute effective notice of the changes described in the notice. In any event, changes to this privacy Policy may affect our use of personal information that you provided us prior to our notification to you of the changes. If you do not wish to permit changes in our use of your personal information, you must notify us prior to the effective date of the changes that you wish to deactivate your account with us. Continued use of our site or Service, following notice of such changes, shall indicate your acknowledgment of such changes and agreement to be bound by the terms and conditions of such changes.

Personal Information.

This policy covers the following personal information that Causely collects through your use of the Service:

- Contact information, such as first and last name, physical address, telephone number, e-mail address, country of residence and company/institution

- Transactional information, including information about the products and services you request, purchase, access or download.

- User preferences, such as product requirements, subjects of interest and other information you select in your profile when registering for and using the Service, or as indicated by your use of the Service

- Financial/credit card and payment information

- Usage statistics relating to your use of Causely products and services.

Information about You Received from an SNS.

You may access parts of the Service through a social networking site ("SNS") such as Facebook. If you access to the Service through an SNS, your use of the Service may also be subject to that SNS's terms of service and privacy policy.

When you use any Causely game at an SNS, where our games may be referred to as "applications," you allow Causely to access certain information from your profile for that site. The information you allow Causely to access varies by game and SNS platform, and it is affected by the privacy settings you establish at the SNS. You can control and find out more about these settings at the SNS where you play our games. For example, Causely may access and store some or all of the following information, as allowed by you, the SNS and your preferences:

- Your first and last name

- Your profile picture or its URL

- Your user ID number, which is linked to publicly available information such as name and profile photo

- The user ID numbers for your friends that are also connected to our game

- The login e-mail you provided to that SNS when you registered

- Your physical location and that of your access device

- Your gender

- Your birthday

By playing a Causely game through an SNS, you are authorizing Causely to collect, store and use in accordance with this Privacy Policy any and all information that you allow the SNS to provide to Causely through the SNS application programming interface (API). Your agreement takes place when you "accept," "allow" or otherwise use one of our applications on an SNS.

If you play our games at a third-party SNS, Causely will be able to access and store profile and other information about you as described above. The categories of information you share with us will depend, in part, on the privacy settings you have established at the SNS where you access the application. Many SNSs allow you to control how you share information with third-party applications and websites, such as Causely games, through your privacy settings on those particular SNSs. Causely does not control what privacy settings those sites make available to their users, so we refer you to the privacy policies that are posted on those sites to learn what options they make available to their users. Causely does not offer an "opt out" option for specific fields that are shared by the SNS where you access and play the games.

Electronic Communications Protocols and Cookies.

In addition to the information specified above, we may collect information about your use of the Service through electronic communications protocols and cookies. As is true when you visit most online services, Causely may automatically receive information from you as part of the communication connection itself, which often consists of network routing information (where you came from), equipment information (browser type) and date and time. Causely may also use cookies, embedded URLs, embedded pixels and other similar technologies to capture additional information.

Causely Cookies.

Causely's server will query your browser to see if there are "cookies" previously set by the Service. A cookie is a small piece of information sent by a web server to store with a web browser so that it can later be read back from that browser. Cookies for the Service may collect a unique identifier, user preferences and profile information. Causely also uses cookies to collect general usage and volume statistical information that does not include personally identifiable information. Some cookies may remain on a user's computer after the user leaves the website. While we do not offer an opt-out for cookies, browsers provide you with information regarding and control over cookies. You can set your browser to alert you when a cookie is being used, and accept or reject that cookie. You can also set your browser to refuse all cookies or accept only cookies returned to the originating servers. However, if you disable the cookie feature on your browser, you may not be able to access some parts of the Service.

Third-Party Cookies and Functions.

Causely may use third-party advertisers to serve or track advertisements on websites. These third parties may use cookies, pixel tags and other technologies to, among other things, enable such third parties to record which ads your browser has loaded and which pages you may have been viewing when the ads were delivered or accessed. The information collected through these functions is subject to the privacy policies of those third parties.

Embedded URLs.

Causely may use a tracking technique that employs embedded URLs to allow use of the site without cookies. Embedded URLs allow limited information to follow you as you navigate the site, but is not associated with personal information and is not used beyond the session.

Embedded Pixels.

Causely may use embedded pixel technologies on selected pages for the purposes of identifying unique user visits to the Service, as opposed to aggregate hits, and to identify the pages viewed. We may also use embedded pixel technologies to determine whether the recipient of an e-mail has opened a particular e-mail.

Combining with Personal Information.

The information provided by these technologies may be re-associated with personal information by Causely.

Causely uses (and, where specified, shares) your personal information for the following purposes:

To facilitate game play.

Causely may use your personal information to register your account and allow play of our games, administer games and improve game play, identify and suggest connections with other users, enable user-to-user communications and facilitate other aspects of game play. In some Causely games, other players may be able to see your game name or pseudonym and a game profile. Your game profile may include your profile photo, which in certain cases can reveal your user ID number. Access to this information may allow others to view the public information associated with your related SNS account.

To engage in transactions.

Causely may use personal information such as name, physical address, telephone number, e-mail address and company/institution to engage in transactions with you, including contacting you about your registration or transactions.

To process transactions.

Causely may use financial/credit card and payment information to process your transactions. Causely may need to share some of this information with suppliers, delivery services, credit card clearing houses and other third parties to complete the transactions.

To provide support or other services.

Causely may use your personal information to provide you with support or other services that you have ordered or requested. In addition, Causely may use your personal information to respond to your inquiries or requests for information.

To tailor marketing to your needs and respond to your requests.

Causely may use your personal information to provide you with notices of new product releases and service developments. Causely also may use your personal information to respond directly to your requests for information, including registrations for newsletters or other specific requests.

To select content, improve quality and facilitate use of the Service.

Causely may use your personal information, including the information gathered as a result of site navigation and electronic protocols and cookies (including third-party cookies), to help create and personalize Service content, facilitate your use of the Service (for example, to facilitate navigation and the login process, avoid duplicate data entry and enhance security), improve Service quality, track marketing campaign responsiveness and evaluate page response rates.

To comply with legal requirements.

Regardless of any choices you make regarding your personal information, Causely may disclose your personal information if we believe in good faith that such disclosure is necessary (a) in connection with any legal investigation; (b) to comply with relevant laws or to respond to subpoenas or warrants served on Causely; (c) to protect or defend the rights or property of Causely or users of the Service; and/or (d) to investigate or assist in preventing any violation or potential violation of the law, this Privacy Policy, or the Terms of Use. We may also disclose information about you if we determine that disclosure is reasonably necessary to enforce our rights or protect our operations or users.

As part of a merger or acquisition. Causely may disclose your personal information to a successor or acquiring entity as part of a merger, acquisition, reorganization or other transaction involving all or substantially all of Causely's assets.

Causely may share your personal information with its vendors, suppliers, contractors and other service providers in order to perform the functions set forth above.

Choices. We offer you choices regarding the collection, use and sharing of your personal information.

- We will periodically send you free newsletters and e-mails that directly promote the use of our site or Service. When you receive newsletters or promotional communications from us, you may indicate a preference to stop receiving further communications from us and you will have the opportunity to "opt-out" by following the unsubscribe instructions provided in the e-mail you receive or by contacting us directly at legal@Causely.com.

- Despite your indicated e-mail preferences, we may send you service-related communications, including notices of any updates to our Terms of Service or Privacy Policy.

Changes to Personal Information. You may change any of your personal information by editing your Facebook profile or by sending an e-mail to us at unsubscribe@Causely.com. You may request deletion of your personal information by us, but please note that we may be required to keep this information and not delete it (or to keep this information for a certain time, in which case we will comply with your deletion request only after we have fulfilled such requirements). When we delete any information, it will be deleted from the active database, but may remain in our archives. We may retain your information for fraud or similar purposes.

Your California Privacy Rights.

Under California Civil Code Section 1798.83, if you are a California resident and your business relationship with Causely is primarily for personal, family, or household purposes, you may request certain data regarding Causely's disclosure, if any, of personal information to third parties for the third-parties' direct marketing purposes. To make such a request, please send an e-mail message to legal@Causely.com with "Request for California Privacy Information" in the subject line. You may make such a request up to once per calendar year. If applicable, we will provide you, by e-mail, a list of the categories of personal information disclosed to third parties for their direct marketing purposes during the immediately preceding calendar year, along with the third parties' names and addresses. Please note that not all personal information sharing is covered by Section 1798.83's requirements.

Security of Your Personal Information.

We are committed to protecting the security of your personal information. We use a variety of industry-standard security technologies and procedures to help protect your personal information from unauthorized access, use or disclosure. We also require you to enter a password to access your account information. Please do not disclose your account password to unauthorized people. No method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure, however. Therefore, while we use reasonable efforts to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute secrecy.

Third-Party Sites.

The Service may provide links to third-party sites. Those sites are beyond our control. Your interactions with those third parties are subject to their privacy policies and terms of use.

Transfer of Information to Other Countries and Affiliates.

Causely's processing of the information that it collects may involve the transfer of that information to various countries around the world, including countries other than the one in which you reside. By submitting your information to Causely via the Service or in connection with your interactions with Causely offline, you consent to such transfers and to the processing of that information in various countries around the world, including countries other than the one in which you reside. We may also transfer data to our subsidiaries, parent companies, joint ventures and other corporate entities under common ownership or control for business purposes.

No Use by Minors.

The Service is intended for use by adults only. In connection with the Service, Causely does not promote online to children and does not intentionally collect any personally identifiable information from children under the age of thirteen (13). In the event that we learn that we have inadvertently gathered information from children under the age of 13, we will take reasonable measures to promptly erase such information from our records.
